Creating the definitive guide to Washington state's breweries, brew pubs, and greatest beer bars.

Introduction

First Draft Production is producing a book about Washington beer. The book is tentatively titled, “Hoppy Trails, the definitive guide to Washington’s breweries and great beer places.” The book’s goal is to promote the world-class beer that Washington brewers produce and to celebrate the vibrant beer culture that Washingtonians embrace.

The book will take the form of a travel guide; however, it will have stand alone value as a Washington beer information resource as well. For each brewery, brew pub, or great beer bar that is featured, the guide will provide basic information such as the location, hours of operation, and products offered. It will include travel information, such as how to get there, what to expect, best hours to visit, where to stay, and so on. More than that, the guide will tell the unique story of each enterprise—the history, personalities, and culture that contribute to the individual flavor of each brewery and pub.

Washington Beer Book

The Washington Beer Book. It's about time someone wrote a book about Washington Beer. Kim and I love beer and we've lived in Washington for most of our lives. So we're perfectly suited for the task of telling the world about Washington beer. We regularly travel to visit breweries and brew pubs across the great state of Washington and now we are going to share our experiences and our knowledg in a Washington Beer Book. Actually, it will be more like a Washington Beer Guide. We'll tell you where to go and what to expect when you get there. We'll recommend some itineraries based on location. And we'll tell the unique story of each brewery and brew pub in Washington. So in addition to being a Washington beer guide, it will also be a Washington beer resource. We tentively are going to call it Hoppy Trails, but you can just think of it as the Washington Beer Book.
